Family Connection, in partnership with Mountain Education Charter High School, presented a “Baby and Me” Resource Night on Aug. 30 at the Mountain Education Charter High School facility located in Demorest.  There were Care Management representatives from Amerigroup, CareSource, and PeachState to share information regarding services for prenatal care, baby care, and other benefits under each program.

Other agencies that were represented include WIC – food assistance program for women and children; MedLink – offers primary and preventive medical, dental, and mental healthcare; Volunteers for Literacy – promoting reading to babies/children at an early age; Family Resource Center – offers parenting support and education programs; Cornelia Police Department – car seat safety checks and assistance with car seats; and Family Connection – connecting young parents with resources..

Young parents were also able to look through the baby clothes closet located at Mountain Education Charter High School.  Many of the young parents were appreciative of the new information they learned from each program represented.  A huge thank you to each agency who participated with this event.
