About Us

Habersham County Family Connection endeavors to bring community partners together to develop, implement, and evaluate plans that address the serious challenges faced by our children and families.

Working with community partners, we have tackled intractable problems that challenge our families like child abuse and neglect, school dropout, and physical and mental health disparities.

Some successes in our community include:

  • Increased knowledge regarding prevention of child abuse & neglect
  • Trained 10%+ of our adult population on the sexual abuse prevention program “Darkness to Light”
  • Established a Family Resource Center in our community that includes parenting classes, counseling, First Steps & Supervised Visitation program
  • Established a comprehensive Student and Parent Support Center at Ninth Grade Academy which houses mental health specialists and social workers

Our partners play a pivotal role in the implementation of our plans to improve the lives of our families. They include public agencies, non-profit organizations, civic groups, businesses, churches and individuals.
