Annual Coat Distribution 2021
On December 16th, Family Connection distributed coats, hats, scarves and gloves to 200+ at-risk families at our annual Coat Distribution event held at the First Baptist Church in Cornelia. Families-in-need were referred by the school system to take part in the Kiwanis Club annul Toys 4 Kids event where they received free toys. Each year, the Kiwanis Club includes Family Connection in this event, giving us the opportunity to offer these same families free coats, hats, scarves and gloves (some new, some gently used).
This year we received donations of coats, etc. from Circle of Hope, various schools, businesses, individuals and anonymous donors. Other partners included MedLink, Amerigroup, Farm Bureau, North GA Technical College (NGTC) and the Central High School Special Education Class. MedLink and Amerigroup provided volunteer support and stocking stuffers. Farm Bureau of Mount Airy provided tables and volunteers for the event. NGTC provided volunteers. The SPED class at Central High were so kind to wash, dry and fold our gently used items this year.

This year donations of coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, volunteers, space and tables produced an estimated amount of in-kind funds totally $8,000.
Many hands make this effort a success each year. Thank you all for your kind support!
